Crowds flocked to Bitts Park in Carlisle on Sunday for the popular Show and Tell event organised by Carlisle Matters, writes Chris Jones.
The free community celebration brought together residents, local organisations and businesses for a lively day packed with entertainment, activities and community spirit.
Families and visitors of all ages enjoyed exploring a variety of local stalls and exhibitors, while community groups highlighted the valuable work they carry out across Carlisle and the surrounding area.
The event created a welcoming family atmosphere aimed at strengthening local connections and showcasing the best of the city’s community initiatives.

Adding a splash of colour to the park, trees around the venue were decorated with vibrant knitted artwork created by the Carlisle Matters Yarn Bombers.
The eye-catching displays drew plenty of attention from visitors and added a creative and artistic touch to the event.

Several notable guests attended during the day, including Carlisle MP Julie Minns, newly appointed city mayor Anne Glendinning and David Allen, the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
Entertainment throughout the afternoon kept crowds entertained, with performances from Miss Pearl, Somethin Brewing and DJB DJ creating a lively festival atmosphere.
Local dance group Studio A Dance Company also impressed spectators with energetic dance routines and enthusiastic performances that attracted applause from the audience.
The event was made possible thanks to support from major sponsors including Story, Dryden Media, Mr Allen and Cumberland Council, alongside many other local businesses that contributed to the day’s success.
Carlisle Matters, a community interest company, was established to connect communities, organisations and businesses across Carlisle and district.
The organisation works to foster collaboration and positive social impact by bringing together local services, third-sector groups and private sector partners, championing the power of community-driven change throughout the area.
