Barry Bragg Trophy winners Sun Inn B

The end of the John Peel Darts League season was celebrated at the annual presentation evening in Wigton Bowling Club.

There was special praise for the hard-working committee without whom the league wouldn’t be run so well and effectively.

Chair Matthew Glencross, vice chair Lynsey Ostle, Janine Scott, secretary’s personal assistant, treasurer Mark Sloan and secretary Mel Scott were warmly thanked for their efforts.

There was a shout-out to the other important members of the committee Nev Jack and Dougie James whose help, advice and wealth of experience playing in and running the league was vital.

A total of 26 teams are involved across two divisions every Friday night to play darts and without the officials there simply would not be a league.

On the night there was also warm thanks to Pauline and her staff for making sure everyone was well hydrated all night and to Janice Wilson for the superb buffet.

Final thanks went to Jenny Ball who entertained everyone superbly all evening.
