Windermere Taverners Cricket Club played host to the local hockey club in their most recent fundraising match on Wednesday.
The Taverners are a group of over-40s who enjoy raising much needed funds for local clubs, organisations and great causes, by hosting a cricket match.
The Taverners said 2025 was a record year and one of over 20 donations they made was to St John’s Hospice.
They welcomed the hospice’s Angela Emms, who came to say thank you for the donation and explain how the charity helped the area and how hard they have to work to raise sufficient funds to continue their own great work.

After the game, all gathered at The Elleray, for food and welcome drinks along with raffles and auctions.
