
A 45-year-old man has died following a collision on the A66 on Saturday.
Police were called to the incident, near Thornthwaite, just outside Keswick, at around 1.20am.
The collision involved a Ford and a Dacia.
Pete Faulkner, of Cockermouth, was driving the Dacia and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the second vehicle, was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Police are investigating the collision and are appealing for any witnesses – or anyone who saw anything relevant – to contact them on 101, referring to incident 23 of June 6.
