Elbra B take top spot in Maryport Pool League

Elbra B took top spot in the Maryport Pool League after comfortably beating Sun Inn Cannons 6-1.

Roger Rivers, Graham Mattinson and Ian Frizzle all won their singles before they took all three doubles.

They take over at the top of the table on frame difference.

Bowling Club beat the Sharks 4-3 after Paul Mostyn gave the Sun Inn side the lead.

The Bowlers stormed back with Anthony Brough beating Jobby Dunn and Jason Miller then made it 2-1 by beating Luke Kershaw.

Mike McCallig beat Michael Prescott to make it 3-1 and the first double saw the Bowling Club clinch the victory as Paul Kirkbride and McCallig beat Dunn and Kershaw.

The Sharks took the last two doubles to make it more respectable but it was too little too late and it finished 4-3 to the Bowling Club.

Sun Inn Ballers moved within three points of Elbra A after beating them 4-3.

Gary Miller and Greg Todd won their singles before Miller and Johnny Gray made it 3-2 with the first double.

Willy Armstrong and Todd then secured the win with a frame to spare.

Ryan Ismay leads the individual singles table with 13 wins after he set Maryport Social on the way to a 6-1 victory at home to Maryport Rugby Club B.

Stephen Ismay, Andrew Egan and Zak Bird also won to make it a clean sweep in the singles.

Taylor Manchester and Danny Dryden were the sole winners for the Sun Inn Dearham as Swan beat them convincingly 5-.

Carl Daley and Dave Miller made it 2-2 before the Swan took all the doubles.

Elbra C beat Butchers B 5-2 with Simon Forrest, Ian Lancaster and Jonathan Webster all on fine form. Glasson Rangers beat Maryport Rugby A 4-3 coming from 3-1 down to take the last doubles and clinch the match via Cam Stuart and Kieron Hughes.

The final game of the week saw Butchers A beat Grasslot Welfare 4-3 as Scott Ivison and George Close took the deciding double.
