A person has been seriously injured following a crash on the A66.
The collision, involving a HGV and a van, was reported today at 5am, between Kirkby Thore and Crackenthorpe.
The driver in the van suffered serious injuries. The driver in the HGV was not seriously injured.
The stretch of road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours and motorists are still being asked to avoid the area.
