Workington Reds have re-signed Luke Hunter who spent time with them last season on loan from FC Fylde.
Hunter, 25, has now committed himself for the next two years as a Workington player, looking to build on his short stay at Borough Park.
Announcing the signing today, the Reds said: “After arriving on loan from AFC Fylde last season, Luke quickly established himself as an important part of the squad with a series of impressive performances in red.
“His quality, work rate and versatility made him a standout throughout his time at Borough Park, and we’re thrilled to have secured his services on a permanent deal.
“Luke’s signing is another significant statement of intent as preparations continue for the new campaign.”
Hunyter was the top scorer in the Northern League with Penrith when he signed for Fylde last November but was unable to force his way into the National North leaders’ side.
But after joining Reds and scoring twice in five games he was recalled by Fylde but again failed to make the starting line-up, finally being released at the end of the season.
In the last few days Reds have signed Jake Allan after his release from Carlisle United and signed a former Reds Player of the Year Matty Douglas on his departure from Queen of the South.
Brad Carroll and Isaac Whitehall are the big names from last season’s team who have also committed to another season with the Reds.
