Plenty of action in Maryport Pool League

Sun Inn Ballers: Willy Armstrong, Johnny Gray, Greg Todd & Gary Miller

Sun Inn Sharks bit back after losing top spot in the Maryport Pool League last week.

A 6-1 home victory against Glasson Rangers saw them go three points clear of Elbra B in second place.

Jobby Dunn, Steve Wheatcroft, Luke Kershaw and David Wilson were all in top form for the Aspatria side.

Elbra B were at home to Maryport Rugby Club A and took a 2-0 lead before David Holiday and Lee Bowness made it 2-2.

The Rugby lads then took the first two doubles to pull off the 4-3 victory and send Elbra B back down into second place.

Bowling Club remain third after beating Rugby League Club B 4-3 with all four points coming in the singles via Dave Edwards, Anthony Brough, Jason Miller and Mike McCallig. Elbra A were dominant away at Grasslot Welfare beating them 6-1.

Pat Walton, Arron Rowley, Jason Thompson and Andy Henderson all won their singles.

Sun Inn Ballers also won 6-1 at home to Sun Inn Dearham with Gary Miller, Willy Armstrong and Johnny Gray all winning for them while Taylor Manchester took the only single for Dearham.

An in-house derby at Butchers saw the A team come out on top with a 5-2 victory. Swan Inn beat the Sun Inn Cannons 4-3 after Stephen and Gareth Pattinson had both won to make it 2-0.

The Cannons drew level via John Thompson and Jordan Falcon before Swan took the first two doubles to secure the 4-3 victory.

Maryport Social Club beat Elbra C 7-0 led by captain Ryan Ismay who is ahead in the season’s singles with 14 wins.

He was ably supported by Liam Holm, Stephen Ismay and Zak Bird.
