Six people had to be rescued after they were cut off by the tide.
Furness Coastguard Rescue Team was called out yesterday afternoon, Sunday June 21, to Askam-in-Furness.
It said: “Working alongside Duddon Inshore Rescue, the team found six young people safely ashore, with one assisted by a returning boat.
“Safety advice was given, including information on tide times and the dangers of local channels and gullies, which can quickly flood and cut off access to sandbanks.”
The Coastguard advised people to always check tide times and plan ahead when visiting the coast.
