
Cumberland County League will have an additional team for the 2026/27 season.
Carlisle Athletic were elected at last night’s annual meeting and will take their place in an extended 11-strong Division One.
Keswick and Cleator Moor Celtic were relegated to Division One on their finishing positions in the Premier Division and they will be replaced by Dearham and Northbank who are promoted.
The league has agreed to ringfence £1,900 to provide a level of financial support for teams to hire 3G facilities should their pitch be unfit for play.
This is an incentive to hopefully minimise the loss of fixtures due to inclement weather.
