A power cut has affected 102 properties in Workington – including Dunmail Park.
SP Electricity North West said the issue was first reported at around 3.10pm today, Tuesday July 28.
It said the incident had been caused by an unexpected incident on a high voltage cable.
It is understood contractors have dug through a mains cable near the Port of Workington, which has also been affected by the outage.
The firm said engineers were at the site and it was hoped electricity would be restored by 6.07pm today.
Parkway Cinema has closed for the day and said the audience who were at screenings at the time were given refunds.
Anyone who has booked a cinema ticket for today can rebook or get a refund, cinema bosses said.
