[P]olice are seeking information in relation to a report of an attempted robbery in Kendal on April 17th.

Detectives are appealing for any information about the pictured vehicle, which was seen in the town centre shortly after the event.

The attempted robbery took place at around 10.15pm on Monday, 17 April 2017.

The victim of the assault – a man in his 30s who suffers from Parkinson’s disease – was walking up the hill at Gillingate in Kendal when car pulled alongside him and men began yelling.

They got out of the car – a silver-coloured Vauxhall Corsa – and pushed the victim to the ground from behind and, whilst he laid on the ground, he was kicked. As a result he sustained minor injuries.

The men fled back to the car which drove off after a jogger stopped to assist the victim. The jogger has then helped the victim to get home.

The men who carried out the attempted robbery are described as being:

1. Male around 5ft 7ins tall, skinny and of a pale complexion with mousey brown, short, thinning hair. He was aged around 19 and was wearing a grey tracksuit and had a local accent.

2. The man driving the car is described as around 6ft tall and of stocky/heavy-set build. He has been described as having a weathered face and a black goatee with a skinhead haircut. He was aged approximately in his late 40s and was wearing a blue Adidas tracksuit top, dark-coloured pants and white trainers.

3. It is believed a third man was a passenger in the car but no description is available.

Detective Inspector Helen Curme of Cumbria Police said: “Whilst incidents of this nature are disturbing, they are extremely rare.

“The incident has left the victim very shaken and we are making every effort to locate those involved.

“We are particularly keen to trace the jogger who helped the victim as he may have valuable information.

“We would also call on anyone who was in the area at the time or who thinks they may recognise the description to get in touch.”

Anyone who can assist the investigation should call Detective Inspector Helen Curme or Detective Constable Jack Montague at Kendal CID on 101. Alternatively information can be passed using Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
