[J]une 16 sees a welcome return for the Red Dirt Skinners at the Florence Arts Centre, Egremont.

Florence Arts Centre Manager; Craig Carruthers said: “On their visit to Florence in December 2016 the Red Dirt Skinners brought the house down with their infectious blend of country-folk-blues … it was so good we immediately rebooked them for summer 2017! Don’t miss them this time around – tickets are on-sale now!”

With a lifetime of music behind them Rob and Sarah have been playing as The Red Dirt Skinners since 2012. In this short time they have broken new ground in folk, country, blues and Americana (with a  bit of rock thrown into the mix!). In 2013, the Red Dirt Skinners became the first band in history to succeed at both the British Blues Awards and the British Country Music Awards, but don’t let this impressive accolade pigeonhole their music for you; they’ve also recently been nominated Duo of the Year at the International Acoustic Music Awards.

In 2016, the duo’s fifth album, Behind The Wheel, was voted Folk/Roots Album of the Year in several polls both in the UK and North America.  “It’s hard to believe such a big sound can come from just two people. It is a pleasure to hear them but even better to hear them live. Awesome!” – Johnny D Renegade Radio Nashville Marrying superb musicianship with intricate vocal harmonies, The Red Dirt Skinners are a must-see live act.

Supporters of the band are far and wide, with five successful tours of Canada in the last two years, encouragement from the likes of Bob Harris and Lisa-Marie Presley and a following of fellow musicians and music-lovers from Nashville to Newcastle.

This is going to be a highlight of this year’s live music at Florence so book early to avoid missing out!

This show is expected to sell quickly.

Tickets are £10 and are available online at https://tickets.tygit.com/basket/show and also from the Florence Arts Centre, Florence Mine, Egremont, Cumbria, CA22 2NR [email protected] | 01946 824946
