Expert advice on home improvements at Building Control Surgery

Then, why not pop down to the Building Control Surgery being held at Penrith Building Supplies premises on Stalker Road. You can have a brew and talk to the experts from Eden District Council’s Building Control Service, staff from Penrith Building Supplies and trade representatives on Tuesday 25 July 2017 from 9am-3pm.

Eden District Council’s Building Control Team, Penrith Building Supplies’ staff and trade representatives can advise you on the regulatory permissions and products that you may need.

Eden District Council’s Building Control Manager, Alaistair Richmond, said: “Embarking on home improvements or a building projects can be a daunting process and getting expert advice about the permissions you need or suitable materials is key to making sure the job is done right. The Council’s Building Control Service are working with Penrith Building Supplies and trade representatives to offer a range of expert opinions to local people on your home improvement or building projects.

“So if you are considering have an extension built, converting your loft, improving the insulation of your home before winter why not join us for a tea or coffee on Tuesday 25 July between 9am-3pm at Penrith Building Supplies to see how we can help.”

Every year in Local Authority Building Control in Eden District receives and deals with around 700 building regulations applications, these can vary from replacement windows to housing sites with 100’s of new homes to large commercial buildings. By obtaining professional advice and working with tradesman with the recognised industry qualifications the public can be reassured their building works are be carried out to the appropriate standards.

Roger Parkin, Penrith Building Supplies’ Business Development Manager said: “The Surgery event on Tuesday 25 July is an ideal opportunity to help the public and to show that Penrith Building Supplies are actively working with the Local Authority Building Control Service and product manufacturers including Marsh Industries to ensure that the right products are specified to ensure building regulations are met.”
