[A] MAN will be sentenced next month for an assault he committed in Whitehaven.
Craig Edward Moynes, 40, faced one charge when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).
Moynes admitted assaulting Ronald Joseph Acton, causing him actual bodily harm, following an incident on May 6.
No details about the crime were outlined in open court during the short hearing. But his lawyer, David Thompson, spoke of “quite a lot of background history to this matter”.
Judge Peter Davies adjourned the case, and asked for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Moynes, of New Road, Thornhill, Egremont, is due to receive his punishment at the crown court on October 30.
In the meantime he was granted bail by Judge Davies. One of the conditions states that Moynes must not contact Mr Acton in any way.
