[A]t 2:18am today, Monday 13 November firefighters were called to a kitchen fire on Greendykes, Egremont.
Crews, two wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Five casualties were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
“Adjacent properties were also checked by the crews. They were at the scene for two and a half hours.”
