[I]cy stretches are expected to form on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths over much of Scotland and northern England.
Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are likely.
Longer journey times and some road closures are possible with some bus and train services perhaps delayed.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Following falling rain, sleet and snow during Friday clear spells will develop with ground temperatures falling leading to icy stretches forming, particularly where lying snow melts and then refreezes.”
