Shahadat Hossain

[U]niversity of Cumbria accounting and finance lecturer Shahadat Hossain has been elected as a panel member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant’s (ACCA) Cumbria and Lancashire network panel.

The prestigious appointment means Shahadat will be able to offer a real insight into changes within the accounting profession that will benefit his students.

“As a panel member I’m able to advise the ACCA on the issues which are emerging in this sector which will help inform ACCA’s strategy in the UK,” Shahadat said.

“I’m proud too as it will mean I can offer my students a direct line to the kind of issues that are being debated which may well help inform their studies and help when it comes to finding work in this fast-moving profession.”

Shahadat will serve for an initial three-year term.

The news comes a month after the University of Cumbria’s business, accounting and  finance programme received full accreditation from the ACCA.
