A star of the West End will bring original songs and award-winning character comedy to West Cumbria on 15 September.
Sarah-Louise Young delivers sassy and saucy entertainment through her creations, from tortured French chanteuse La Poule Plombée to washed-up lounge crooner Bernie St Clair.
A writer, performer and director whose character comedy shows have toured internationally, Sarah-Louise boasts a big musical theatre voice along with impressive acting ability and has won numerous accolades, including best cabaret act at the London Cabaret Awards and The Stage Award for acting.
She has appeared in the West End with Showstopper! The Improvised Musical, Fascinating Aida, Julie Madly Deeply and La Soirée. She is one half of writing and performing duo Roulston & Young, who have created nine productions in 11 years and are now working on their first fully staged musical.
Standout reviews of her cabaret performances have ranged from Broadway Baby’s verdict of “Warm-hearted, hilarious from start to finish… sharp, clever, observational gold” to The Stage’s glowing endorsement, “The accents are spot on, the singing is faultless and the brilliantly observed
one-liners had the audience (standing room only) unashamedly chuckling throughout… one of the Fringe’s finest musical comedies.”
Cabaret Chameleon is suitable for over-16s and tickets are available from Rosehill Theatre, Whitehaven, on 01946 692422 or www.rosehilltheatre.co.uk
