Police were called at 4:38pm on 30 December to a report of a collision on the A66 at Crackenthorpe.
The collision involved five vehicles:
- An Audi A3, driven by a local male aged 24. He received no injury.
- A Ford Focus, driven by a 61-year-old man from Scotland. He received minor injuries and was taken to Cumbria Infirmary in Carlisle hospital.
- A Mercedes, driven by a 35-year-old- man from York. He received no injury.
- A Peugeot, driven by a 42-year-old man from Maidstone. He was taken to CIC hospital with minor injury.
- A Mazda, driven by a 39-year-old man from Scotland. He received no injury.
The road was closed whilst recovery took place and the road was cleared and made safe.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact PC 1373 Bage on 101 quoting log number 172 of the 30th December.
