Irish Country Music in Threlkeld

Lisa Stanley

Country music has quite a following in Cumbria, especially Irish Country music, so Threlkeld Village Hall are pleased to be able to welcome Irish country singer Lisa Stanley and her band on 10th May.

Lisa Stanley has fast become a well-known face on the country music scene throughout Ireland and the U.K. over the past few years.

Although Lisa was born into the business (both her parents were entertainers Maisie McDaniel and Fintan Stanley), she is already a successful artist on the Irish country music scene, and her weekly appearances as presenter on Sky TV’s The Phil Mack International Country Show and Keep It Country Music have made her a well-known face on the U.K. country music scene.

Most Recently Lisa has started her own country music TV show called THE LISA STANLEY SHOW which goes out three times a week on Keep It Country TV. With the TV show still in its infancy, the viewing figures are already tremendous.

Lisa now divides her time between Ireland and the U.K. and although she’s kept busy with The Lisa Stanley Show, Lisa has her own band and performs all across the U.K. and Ireland. Lisa and her band put on a great show, with a great selection of songs from country classics to pop and rock ’n’ roll that people can sing along to, as well as her own songs from her four studio albums. The band consists of keyboards, lead guitar/ pedal steel guitar, bass and drums, and backing vocals (Lisa’s daughter Sofia Stanley). Her new album is “Heart & Soul”, released by Rosette Records.

She is playing Threlkeld Village Hall on Friday 10th May at 8pm. Tickets are £14 (£7 under 18s) and are available from the village PO, Village Hall Coffee Shop or on-line at www.threlkeldvillagehall.org/whats-on by debit or credit card. Tickets bought on-line will be available from the box on the night. Bar and Box Office from 7:15pm.
