Officers investigating a domestic assault have charged a man with three offences overnight.
Police were called at 2.45am yesterday (29 April) after a woman suffered injuries to her arms and hands.
The injured woman was taken to hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life-altering or life-threatening.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Marian Uciu, 37, of Scotby Close, Carlisle had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“He has now been charged with wounding with intent, false imprisonment and making threats to kill
“Uciu is due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court today (30 April).”
