Heavy rain may lead to some travel disruption
Rain, some heavy, will continue through much of Tuesday, particularly persistent across high ground. Many places are likely to see 20-30 mm of rain, while some parts of the Lake District and north Pennines could see 50-100 mm which may lead to some travel disruption and flooding.
Gales will accompany the rain, for which a separate warning is in force for much of the day.
Winds will strengthen through the morning with gusts of 50-60 mph likely inland, and 60-70 mph around some coasts and over higher ground.
The strongest winds will probably occur ahead of an intense band of rain that is expected to move quickly eastwards during the day, winds easing once this clears.
