Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery that occurred on the 23rd May at around 10pm on Cheltenham Street, Barrow.
Two 16-year-old boys were out walking when they were approached by an older man, who threatened them with a knife before stealing a rucksack from one of the boys.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The older man is described as 19 – 20 years old, with short blonde hair and about 5’9” tall. He was wearing a dark blue North Face jacket, tracksuit bottoms and was carrying a grey Nike bag. He also had a dog with him.
“One of the boys was assaulted but did not sustain any injuries.
“Officers are asking for residents in the Warwick Street area if they could check their bins and back yards for the victim’s bag, which is a grey Nike rucksack with string straps.”
Zak Richardson, aged 22 of Jarrow Street, Barrow was charged with attempted robbery, possession of a knife blade in a public place and robbery he appeared at Barrow Magistrates court on 25th May 2020 and has been remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on 26th June 2020.
