Runners in Cumbria are invited to take part a virtual race between Friday 19 and Friday 26 June, to raise money for the county’s wildlife.
The North Lakes Virtual 5k and 10k race has been set up by Events up North as a fundraising event for Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
It’s a virtual event, so can be completed anywhere, as long as social distancing is followed. There will be individual and team prizes which will include free entry into the January North Lakes Half Marathon and a variety of spot prizes.
Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s Michelle Wallers says: “A huge Thank You to Events Up North for organising this fantastic virtual fundraising event, and good luck to everyone taking part. Competitive runners across the county are missing taking part in the usual race season at the moment – so this is a great way for them to get back into a bit of local competition, while helping a local charity. Their support will help Cumbria Wildlife Trust undertake essential conservation work and protect our county’s amazing wildlife.”
