The Lake District’s first socially distanced music festival, Social 2.0 is set to take place this August bank holiday in Kendal and a stellar line-up of renowned artists have been announced.

Dutty Moonshine Big Band are to headline the Friday evening alongside Beans on Toast, Meetwood Flac and Chris Butler. Gentleman’s Dub Club are to headline the Saturday with Smoove & Turrell, Jeramiah Ferrari and Foragers. Sunday will see Riot Jazz Brass Band, LOWES, The Seals, The Native Cult and Jon Dawes take to the stage.

The one-off ticketed event has been set up to raise money for the mental health charity, Mind, as well as local food banks, the festival is set to be a safe yet enjoyable event with organisers reassuring guests of safety measures.

The organisers are working very closely with the venue Westmorland County Showground, Christine Knipe, Chief Executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to collaborate on this project, Thomas and the team have pulled together an amazing line-up and we look forward to welcoming visitors to what promises to be a safe, fun and enjoyable event whilst bringing a little bit of normality in these challenging times”

Evie Plumb

Evie Plumb, programming and events manager for the Innova Collective said: “It’s been a great opportunity to handpick some of the best festival bands for The Social 2.0 event – all of our headliners are festival favourites and always get everyone up dancing and enjoying themselves.

“It’s a credit to all the acts and their teams that they are getting back in the rehearsal studio especially for our charity event. Having released the line up just yesterday, we have already had an incredibly positive, overwhelming response and tickets are already flying which is really encouraging! With only 400 available for each night, we will almost certainly sell out in advance of the bank holiday weekend.”

The idea behind the name ‘Social 2.0’ is that the organisers Thomas, Evie and Emmie wanted to recognise that it is possible to still come together and have a brilliant social experience, whilst maintaining the safe distance of two metres between one another and also adhering to other guidance.

The Innova Collective say they are immensely proud to be bringing this incredible line-up and festival to the South Lakes this August 28th, 29th and 30th – tickets are now available from www.socialformind.co.uk, tickets will be purchased per space, with room for up to six people per ‘island’.
