Carlisle City Council is asking local residents to donate their unwanted items such as towels, unused clothing, crockery and toiletries.

The council manages emergency temporary accommodation and residents often have very few possessions or day to day necessities, with no money to buy them.

Any donations will be passed on to residents who need them.

The emergency accommodation is currently running very low on certain items and is asking for the following items to be donated:

  • Unused clothing such as socks.
  • Towels and flannels
  • Soup bowls.
  • Plates.
  • Mugs/Cups
  • Cutlery.
  • Toiletries such as shaving foam.
  • Pots and pans.
  • Cooking utensils.
  • Long life food such as tins, pasta etc.

Items can be dropped off direct at Water Street Families and Women’s accommodation, between 9am and 5pm, seven days a week. Please adhere to social distancing and if you enter the building, please wear a face covering.
