Old Town Hall Carlisle

We all know of the infamous ‘Big Bag Wolf’ from the fairy tale Red Riding Hood. But, how much do we really know about him? Was he really all that bad? Audiences are invited to decide for themselves as the Old Town Hall, Carlisle is transformed into a fairy tale forest as part of the immersive theatre experience ‘Bad Wolf?

Bad Wolf? is a fantastic immersive Theatre piece exploring the myths around the story of the Big Bad Wolf. Join us on this six -person journey into the woods lovingly created from the imagery of a hundred Fairy tale stories.

The Witch will guide the audience through the experience where you will meet the infamous Mr Wolf himself as well as a few Fairy tale favourites to hear their side of the story. Afterall you should ever judge a book by its cover. Here you will see things from the point of view of these well-known villains. The audience will be the judge and determine the fate of Bad Wolf!

Cosmic, The Old Town Hall, Carlisle and The Woods will comply with current recommended safety guidelines regarding Covid-19.

The performances will be held between Thursday 29 and Saturday 31 October.

Carlisle City Council’s Destination Manager, Paul Walker said: “We are delighted to be working with Cosmic Theatre on this innovative approach to performing arts. The sector has been devastated by lockdown and this is a brilliant way to keep it alive in a Covid secure way. ‘Bad Wolf?’ promises to be a fun and interactive experience and we can’t wait to welcome the Wolf and the Witch to the Old Town Hall.”

Wendy Dunn, Cosmic Studio Theatre added: “We are over the moon to be bringing this great little show to life, especially this year when live theatre has been so difficult to produce. The story of the Big Bad Wolf is retold from a different angle with lots of humour in a unique Covid-secure woodland setting within the Old Town Hall. We hope the audiences in Carlisle will come and enjoy a fun show in their very own six person bubble!”

This production is designed to be Covid-secure. The audience will be limited to six at any one time, who will be kept at a safe distance from the ‘Big Bad Wolf’ and the Witch. Face coverings are mandatory, and a track and trace information will be collected at time of purchase. An NHS Track and Trace QR code will be displayed at the entrance to the forest.

Tickets are available by pre-booking only from www.cosmicstudiotheatre.co.uk
