An investigation has been launched after a woman died after a house fire in Cockermouth.
Police were called to Crown Street at around 11.30am today after reports of a blaze.
A woman, aged in her late 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances of her death are not believed to be suspicious at this time.
No other people were reported to be injured.
Joint inquiries are underway involving police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service
