Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was found in the road in Maryport.
The incident occurred at around 8.45pm on Thursday on Victory Crescent.
A cyclist, a 56-year old man from Maryport, was found in the road after falling from his bicycle.
He was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and remains in a critical condition.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
