Seven independent Carlisle businesses have joined forces to say a big thank you to their loyal local customers for their support over the last 14 months.

The group are collaborating on a giveaway timed to celebrate the easing of COVID-19 restrictions between now and Monday June 21 in line with the Government’s roadmap.

Prizes include a one-night stay in one of the Wallsend Guest House’s luxury glamping pods in Bowness-on-Solway, a meal for four at the Pheasant Inn in Cumwhitton, a meal for four at The Crescent Bar in Carlisle, a £25 voucher for Carlisle’s Rooftop Retreat beauty salon, a goodie box from Sweet Cravings and a fold-away picnic bench, worth £225, from J Pattinson Joinery.

The competition has been organised by local financial planning firm Stan Sherlock Associates.

Chief operating officer, Emma Sherlock, said:  “I want to mark the end of a challenging 14 months for our local economy with a fun, feel good event.

“While Stan Sherlock Associates has been able to continue our services to clients throughout the pandemic, many local businesses have had a really difficult time with forced closures.

“However, with the easing of lockdown now underway, everyone is feeling positive, and this is a great way to say thank you, celebrate and kick off what we hope will be a busy, successful and safe summer for all.”

A prize per week, donated by each of the businesses, will be up for grabs and the competition can be entered via the Stan Sherlock Associates Facebook page.

Each week’s prize and entry criteria will be announced on Wednesday, with entries accepted until midnight the following Sunday.  The winner will be announced on Monday each week.
