No injuries have been reported and people are urged to stay away from the scene.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said 10 firefighters were using hosereels and main jets to help tackle the blaze and the service’s aerial ladder platform was deployed to fight the fire from above.

Longtown Fire Station said its crew was released from the scene at around 7pm, but added: “There will be fire crews in attendance for some time.”
