A north Cumbria theatre is set to host its first production of the year.

Wigton’s John Peel Theatre will open The Great British Bump off on July 31, with the show following a collection of cutthroat competitors fighting to be star baker and to catch the eye of celebrity chef, Eduardo D’Angelo.

“We’ve spent lockdown refurbishing our community theatre and are just over a month away from opening our first COVID-era production,” said Angela Faulder, John Peel Theatre committee member.

“The John Peel Theatre can’t wait to welcome you back with our first production of 2021: The Great British Bump Off.

“How far will the bakers go to win? Will the mystery be solved? And just who makes the nicest tart?”

Performances will take place on July 31 and August 1. To book a ticket, go to www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/wigton/the-john-peel-theatre-wigton
