Liam Brockbank, who turned down the offer of a new deal with Workington Reds, has signed for Lancaster City.
The 20-year-old had trained with Hartlepool but more recently linked-up with the Dolly Blues and the club has just confirmed that he has signed.
Brockbank, of Millom, spent nine years at Carlisle United before joining the Reds two seasons ago and he had flourished since joining Danny Grainger at Borough Park.
It was a big disappointment when Brockbank opted against re-signing for the West Cumbrians and was clearly focused on playing at a higher level.
The City manager Mark Fell said: “I am absolutely made-up that Liam has signed for us. He is one of the most exciting young talents around and he is going to make a big impression at the Giant Axe.
”I watched him play twice for Workington last season and he was the best player by a country mile. He’s been top of my wanted list since then.”
