Although the HTA dominated the races at the International meeting over the Greenhead trail there was adequate compensation for hosts the Border Association.

The opening senior trail, the richest of the afternoon went to Polaris, owned by the Border’s President George McGimpsey and currently leading the BHTA Championship.

In the puppy trail three dogs got away at the start and in the end it was Sophie Steele’s Miterdale Dusk who finished best of all to win.

He has also won the Dog Prudence and the open pups at the Bitch Produce trails.

His father and mother, Endure and Silver Dusk have both won international trails.

The HTA’s success continued with Brian Graham’s Eleanor’s Lass winning the open maidens while Winter Fell led all the way in the puppy maidens to follow-up his success last week at the Premier trails.

In the open restricted there was the biggest entry but it also produced the easiest winner as Huntsman’s Major came home well clear.

The veterans trail, for those six years and older, saw Miterdale Steele win by a length from General James after a great battle all the way up the finish. They were well clear of the rest.
