Workington and District Sunday League is preparing for the new season to kick off next month.

Fifteen clubs will contest the competition, split into two Divisions of eight and seven.

Secretary Ron Caffrey, who is looking for a successor to take over in October, said: “We had hoped a team from Abbeytown was going to even up numbers but they didn’t follow up the initial enquiry. Maybe next time.”

Premier Division champions Northside start with a home game against Salterbeck while two promoted sides Dearham and Glasson Gardeners clash in an intriguing opener.
