Cockermouth have beaten Hensingham A in an exciting Division One clash in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL.

It was 30-26 in the end but Cockermouth led 20-6 at half-time and had to withstand a fine home comeback which just failed to turn things around.

Jack Clark scored a hat-trick of tries and kicked three goals for Cockermouth but their man of the match award went to Adam Cavanagh. Rob Scott (2) and Ryan Scott scored their other tries.

For Hensingham there were tries for their man of the match Aaron Turnbull (2), Nick Maudling (2) and Steve Smith, who also landed two goals. There was also a goal from Josh Hillier.

Two other games in Division One saw victories for Seaton A and Egremont A.

Ethan Williams was the Maryport man of the match.

The Lowca tries came from Mitchell Todd, John Thinneson and Matt Farrer with one conversion by Tony Hetherington. Jake Johnston was their man of the match.
