
Cockermouth have beaten Hensingham A in an exciting Division One clash in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL.
It was 30-26 in the end but Cockermouth led 20-6 at half-time and had to withstand a fine home comeback which just failed to turn things around.
Jack Clark scored a hat-trick of tries and kicked three goals for Cockermouth but their man of the match award went to Adam Cavanagh. Rob Scott (2) and Ryan Scott scored their other tries.
For Hensingham there were tries for their man of the match Aaron Turnbull (2), Nick Maudling (2) and Steve Smith, who also landed two goals. There was also a goal from Josh Hillier.
Two other games in Division One saw victories for Seaton A and Egremont A.

After establishing a narrow 6-0 half-time lead Seaton were able to pull away against Maryport and post a 20-0 victory. Man of the match Jon Carl Bryan scored two tries while Lewis Mason and Peter Watson also crossed the Maryport line. Mark Walker kicked two goals.
Ethan Williams was the Maryport man of the match.
In a tight game at Lowca, Egremont A emerged the 22-14 winners after they had been ahead 14-8 at half-time.
The Lowca tries came from Mitchell Todd, John Thinneson and Matt Farrer with one conversion by Tony Hetherington. Jake Johnston was their man of the match.

For Egremont, the tries were scored by Albert McKay, Jack Stainton, man of the match Billy Thompson and Brad Long. Thompson also kicked three goals.
With it being bank holiday weekend there are no Saturday fixtures.
