After a few setbacks defending champions Distington were in good form at Glasson, winning 46-10.

In their previous Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL Premier Division game Glasson had shocked neighbours Ellenborough but never looked repeating the trick on this occasion.

Distington had built up a 24-4 lead by half-time and were equally dominant in the second period.

Phil Lister led the scoring with a hat-trick and he was followed over by Stephen Clark (2), Jordan Scott (2) and Steve Conway. Scott George put over seven goals.

Glasson could not seriously get into the game and managed only two tries from Luke Jackson and Josh Carter, who also put over a conversion.

Responding to that defeat to Glasson, a determined Ellenborough side travelled to Kells and beat the host club’s A team 44-24.

They had the game well won at half-time, leading 32-12 but credit to Kells A they shared the second half 12-12.

Owen Hoyles contributed 18 of the Ellenborough points with two tries and five goals while the other touchdowns came from John Irving (2),Jordan Ostle, Ace Wedgewood and Rhys Burr.

The Kells tries were scored by Lewis Smith (2) and veteran Carl Sice (2) with Ashton Sice landing four goals.

In Division One Seaton A played twice. In mid week they just went down 20-12 at Wath Brow A and followed-up today with a 38-16 home win over Aspatria.

For Seaton there were tries from John Chisnall and Jordan Pritt, both converted by Ciaran Walker.

Against Aspatria the Seaton second team had built a 22-4 lead by half-time and finished with seven tries.

Lewis Mason (3), Matt Dixon (2), Levi Wallbanks and Tom Dover scored the Seaton tries with five goals from Brandon Walker (3) and Dom Smallwood (2).

The Aspatria tries were scored by Stuart Creighton (2) and Luke Crossman. There were two goals from Rocco Okesene.

In the other Division One game Cockermouth were 36-18 winners at Maryport, pulling away after leading 12-10at the break.

The Cockermouth tries came from Lewis Shield (2), Joe Beatty, Ben Irving, Regan Tinnion, Ryan Scott and Jack Lewis. There were two conversions each for Jack Clark and Scott.
