Going into the eighth round of the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship at Silverstone, Bradley Perie trailed the leading rider by 33 points.
Nothing but podium finishes could claw back this deficit and the young Cumbrian didn’t disappoint. In Saturday’s sprint race he progressed from fifth place on the grid to claim a well-deserved second place finish.
The championship leader crashing out emphasised the importance of the podium points.
The feature race on Sunday was yet another strong ride for Perie and saw him win the race and take top spot on the podium – his sixth victory in the race series and, in doing so, reduced the points difference to just five overall.
Perie’s home track of Oulton Park, Cheshire, is the next to be contested with only a further two rounds thereafter to decide the overall Championship winner.
