All-conquering Hensingham Under-16s have doubled their collection of 2021 silverware.

They have added the West Cumbria Youth ARL Under-16s League Winners’ trophy to the North East and Cumbria trophy they won last month.

Hensingham ended their League campaign with a comfortable win over a spirited Lowca Under-16s side to remain undefeated in the 2021 season, with 12 wins out of 12 in the League.

The tries came from Logan Holgate, Devan Sharp, Scott Egan, James Stanaway, Ethan Knill, Ben Wren, Jake Edwards and Tom McKinney, with four conversions from Luca Hiddleston.

Hensingham’s first team coach Sean Dixon presented the trophy to captain Logan Holgate to the delight of his team mates and their coaches, families, friends and supporters.

With the NERL & Cumbria Cup already in the bag after a hard fought and close battle against Gateshead Storm at Newcastle Thunder’s Kingston Park Stadium back in August, Hensingham will now be looking to add a third trophy as the League play-offs loom.

They will face Wath Brow Hornets in their semi-final, and Seaton Rangers will meet Kells B in the second eliminator, with the semi-final winners meeting in the Grand Final on Friday, October 8 at Egremont Rangers’ Gillfoot Park.
