Carlisle’s rearranged game with Firwood Waterloo on Saturday in North One West will not be played.
The game was originally due to be played on September 18 but was postponed because of COVID in the Waterloo club.
The game was rescheduled for the first available Saturday, which is this weekend, when no League fixtures are scheduled.
But Carlisle have said they are unable to fulfil the fixture because of unavailabilities and face having five points docked from their record.
As a consequence, the Carlisle club have appealed to the RFU and while that is being considered the club does not wish to comment.
League secretary Ken Potter said he had followed the RFU rule and he would not be involved in any appeal.
Announcing the postponement on their website, Firwood Waterloo said: “It has now been confirmed that Carlisle RUFC will not fulfil the fixture this week-end as they cannot field a side.
“The League points ramifications still require confirmation from the League secretary.
“The home Cup fixture Waterloo 2nds v Kendal 2nds will go ahead as a 3pm kick-off.”
If Carlisle do lose the five points they would drop to next to bottom with only Douglas, Isle of Man below them.
Keswick had their game with Rochdale postponed on September 25 because of COVID concerns in the Lancashire club. The North Two West fixture is being played this Saturday at Davidson Park.
The Lakes side suffered their first defeat on Saturday when they lost 21-17 at Leigh while Rochdale were without a fixture as the spare team. They have won all three games to date and are five points better off than Keswick.
