Barrow’s biggest League Two crowd of the season -over 3,300 – saw a battling display earn a 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient.
The O’s had to come from behind to salvage a point and it needed a fine save from home keeper Paul Farman near the end to deny them all three.
The game had been pretty low-key up to half time but burst to life three minutes after the interval when Robbie Gotts opened the scoring for the hosts.
The Leeds loanee, who had scored for Salford last season against Orient, while on loan there, ran onto a defence-splitting pass from Remeao Hutton and finished sweetly from ten yards.
Farman kept Barrow in front when he saved well from Theo Archibald while at the other end Patrick Broughhammered a strong shot against the bar.
It wasn’t spectacular but Orient got their equaliser after 69 minutes when defender Omar Beckles scrambled the ball into the net from an Archibald corner.
Kenny Jackett’s side almost snatched the win in the dying moments when Farman again denied Archibald with a fine save.
Afterwards goal-scoring hero Gotts said: “I was delighted to be able to score my first goal for the club in front of the home fans. I couldn’t remember much about it apart from it being a great pass from Remeao.
“In the end I think it was a good point but Orient are a strong side at this level. We knew what to expect as they tended to frustrate us with their game plan.
“We move on now because it’s going to be a tough game at Port Vale but hope to continue the progress we’ve been making.”
Mnager Mark Cooper said: “If you can’t win, you haven’t to lose and that’s what it was about. I feel a bit frustrated but it’s another point on the scoreboard and we are already looking at the next game.”
