Workington Town are back in the Championship, five years after their relegation, and join Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven and Barrow in the second tier.
Chris Thorman’s men won the League One play-off final at Derwent Park, beating Doncaster comfortably 36-12.
It had been a tight first-half with Town ahead 18-12 at the break but as predicted, the effects of playing three play-off games in successive weeks took its toll on Doncaster.
The visitors never managed another point in the second-half as Town pulled away for what, in the end, was an impressive victory.
But then Declan O’Donnell was yellow-carded for a late tackle and during his absence the Dons drew level through a try from Liam Johnson which was converted by Matty Beharrell.
O’Donnell’s return, and 13 against 13 again, quickly saw Town regain their lead AS Conor Fitzsimmons went in from close range and Forber added the extras.
The lead was increased on 32 minutes when Forber darted over under the sticks and put over a simple conversion.
Donacaster seemed to be back in it two minutes before the interval when Greensmith scored in the corner and landed a good conversion to cut the deficit to six points.
But that was as good as it got for Doncaster and when Matty Henson followed-up his own kick to score the fourth try on 47 minutes and Forber converted, the writing was on the wall for the visitors.
Marcus O’Brien and Brad Holroyd scored further tries for a dominant Town with Forber completing six out of six conversions.
Assistant coach Neil Frazer missed the game because he was isolating but later Town skipper Jamie Doran and his team-mates took the trophy to parade outside his house.
