Carlisle United fans travelling to Newport County next Tuesday must have proof they are COVID-free.
Following a period of consultation, the Welsh Government have confirmed that the new legislation in Wales will mean certain requirements.
People aged 18 and over who are attending terraced stadiums with more than 4,000 people, such as Newport’s Rodney Parade, must present one of the following in order to attend:
- A digital NHS COVID pass.
- A paper NHS COVID pass.
- Proof of a recent negative Lateral Flow Test.
Any United fan attending Newport County v Carlisle United on October 19 must be in possession of one of them.
The Carlisle club says that supporters are encouraged to get prepared and obtain a form of COVID Pass at the earliest opportunity.
On arrival to turnstiles, supporters will be spot-checked to evidence one of the approved COVID passes. Supporters that are unable to provide a COVID pass will not be able to access the stadium.
Supporters who are fully vaccinated can prepare by signing up for their NHS COVID pass via a computer, tablet or mobile phone HERE.
Those who are aged 18 and over and are fully vaccinated but do not have the ability to obtain a digital passport – as well as those who do not have photographic ID – can request a paper COVID pass.
It is noted that fans should wait five days after their final dose before requesting the paper copy.
To request a paper NHS COVID pass, they have to call 119 as GPs cannot provide this service.
EU Citizens will be required to either provide an EU Covid Certificate or a negative lateral flow test. It is anticipated that when international regulations change, additional countries’ vaccination evidence will be accepted.
The club added: “At present, we understand that there may be people who are not fully vaccinated due to official medical exemptions. If this is the case, you must provide proof of a recent negative lateral flow test.”
Lateral flow tests are valid for up to 48 hours so supporters should ensure the test is taken within 48 hours of kick-off and no earlier.
For any further information, fans should contact Newport County direct by either calling 01633 302012 or emailing [email protected].Â
Meanwhile, Carlisle United versus Barrow, the Cumbrian derby set for November 13, will kick-off at Brunton Park two hours earlier than normal.
The kick-off time has been brought forward to 1pm at the request of the police.
