Ollie Banks is back in contention for a place in the Barrow midfield for tomorrow’s League Two trip to Port Vale.
The experienced Banks has been in top form for the Bluebirds this season but had to miss last week’s 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient through suspension.
It was just a one-match ban, however, after he had picked up five yellow cards in the early part of the season.
Manager Mark Cooper has steered Barrow into a challenging position in the league, despite the fact that he has had to contend with a lengthy injury list.
There was a ray of light, however, during the week as several returned to light training -notably Connor Brown (groin), Jamie Devitt (thigh), Luke James (foot) and Dimitri Sea (hamstring).
But Cooper still has four players receiving treatment with no immediate signs of returning to treatment – Tom Beadling (knee), Mike Jones (Achilles), Kgosi Ntlhe (knee) and Matt Platt (back).
In the opposition camp Vale boss Darrell Clarke will be hoping Aaron Martin suffered no reaction after returning from a back injury to play in a midweek reserves friendly against Leicester City.
Striker David Amoo scored the only goal in that game and certainly pressed his claims for a recall to the starting eleven against Barrow.
Port Vale are currently fourth, a point outside the automatic promotion places but only two points better off than Barrow who are 11th. In a tight League Two, just eight points divide leaders Forest Green from 14th placed Northampton Town with all of the team having played 11 games.
