There’s only a week left to get your nominations in for this year’s Cumbria Sports Awards.

Do you know a junior or senior team that have had a fantastic 2021, or someone with a disability who has really excelled? Or is there a young volunteer in your club or organisation that is really making a difference? If the answer is yes, then get nominating now!

Whether an individual, volunteer, club, school or coach, a talented athlete who has achieved great things, or someone who, through sport and physical activity has changed their lifestyle for the better, we need to know!

The nomination period will end at midnight on Friday October 22.

It couldn’t be easier to submit your nomination online www.activecumbria.org/cumbriasportsawards

It is not only the headline-grabbing professional stars we are looking to honour.

It could be your school or child’s teacher who coaches after school and works tirelessly to train a team for the next sports championships, a dedicated local team or it could be a coach at your sports club who has spent hours voluntary coaching, and you feel it is time they got the recognition they deserve.

Nominations can be made for:

  • Sports Personality: Finest Individual Achievement
  • Team: Best Team Achievement
  • Performance: Best Individual Performance
  • Service: Extra Dedicated Service
  • Community Club or Group: Quality Local Opportunities
  • Young Volunteer/Leader: Extra Dedicated Young Person
  • Junior Team: Best Team Achievement
  • Rising Star (three awards): Best Young Talent
  • Coach: Delivering Exceptional Impact
  • Junior Personality: Exceptional Rising Star
  • Volunteer: Greatest Volunteering Contribution
  • Disability Performance: Excelled Beyond Barriers
  • Active Education: High quality physical activity and sporting opportunities at school

This year’s event promises to be a marvellous celebration of sport and physical activity in Cumbria, with our sporting heroes the glittering stars.

Winners of the 13 award categories will be announced live on BBC Radio Cumbria across the week of November 22.
