CCTV released after woman’s hair set alight in Carlisle bar

A CCTV image has been released after a woman’s hair was set alight in a Carlisle bar.

Officers are investigating the incident in Amante on Lowther Street at some time between 10pm and 11pm on November 5.

A woman’s hair is believed to have been set alight and officers would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said: “Thankfully, due in no small part to the quick reactions on behalf of the licensee, the victim did not suffer any injury other than the damage to her hair.

“However, such an incident has the potential to cause significant injury and so is being treated seriously.”

Officers are investigating the incident and are calling on anyone with information, or who recognises the man pictured, to come forward. You can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit , quoting incident number 125 of November 6.

You can also call 101. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
