Artisan markets for people to buy local this Christmas

Eden Valley Artistic Network will open the doors of its new Penrith exhibition space tomorrow.

4a is next door to the gallery and studios on Corney Place, and its first event is an Artisan Market.

Opening over three weekends in December, the Artisan Markets champion the theme of ‘buy local, buy handmade’ and will feature different artists each weekend.

There will be a range of art on offer with photography, ceramics, paintings, glass, prints, textiles, home furnishings, greeting cards, and, of course, festive decorations.

This year, EVAN’s Open Studios & Art Trail, Autumn Open Exhibition and the gallery have seen an increase in visitors and sales.

With this in mind, the idea of holding a market in the weekends leading up to Christmas offered an opportunity to use the new space and promote local and handmade artworks.

The Artisan Markets are open on Thursdays to Sundays over the weekends of December 2 to December 5, December 9 to December 12 and December 16 to December 19.

It will be open 5pm to 8pm Thursdays and 10am to 5pm Fridays to Sundays.
