Kendal Town are looking for more volunteers to get involved in running the club.
The call will go out at tomorrow’s AGM when new chairman Michael O’Neill will outline plans for the NPL West club.
“Crucial to that is the recruitment of volunteers. We get a lot of advice, which is welcome, but what we do need are more hands to help with the daily tasks,” he said.
“It’s virtually a 24 hours, seven days a week task to get the club functioning as we want and that’s why we are looking for more help off the field.
“Warren Beattie has come in as manager and is doing a fabulous job on the field. We are picking up points and he has brought in hungry players to boost the good players we already had at the club.
“We have got to match that off the field by bringing in people with the skillsets to tackle the jobs that need to be done.
“Bringing in more sponsorship to the club is vital, too. We need to do more to improve finances.
“A big part of the club is the commercial department and we have a large number of packages that will go out to market very soon, including matchday hospitality, match sponsorship and individual player sponsorship.
“A massive deal still to be done is the naming rights of the stadium at Parkside Road and that is available from today. As we turn the corner on the pitch we believe there’s no better time to have a companies name front and centre at the stadium.
“Anyone interested can contact us and discuss sponsorship opportunities on [email protected].
“Last week we had a very productive meeting with the Westmorland FA and going forward we will be working closely with them, which will be to our mutual benefit.
“These are exciting times, but challenging as well, and I hope we can find the people in and around the town who can make positive contributions to help take the club forward.”
The Mintcakes have built up a little sequence of two games unbeaten – a 2-1 win over Market Drayton and a 0-0 draw at City of Liverpool.
On Saturday they go to Widnes who are fourth bottom, seven points better off than the Cumbrians and from one less game.
