Barrow Raiders Ladies are involved in a new-style Women’s Challenge Cup for 2022.

The Barrow team, coached by Amanda Wilkinson, will be new to the Women’s Super League this season and they were in the draw for the Challenge Cup made at Leeds United’s Elland Road Stadium, the venue for this year’s final on May 7.

The draw will be contested in a Champions League-style format across March and April.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarter-finals, with the group winners guaranteed a home tie.

Barrow were drawn in Group A where they will tackle St Helens, Warrington and The Army.

Hosted by BBC presenter Tanya Arnold, former Leeds United player Jermaine Beckford and Leeds-born women’s footballer Gemma Bonner conducted the draw.
